The capability gap sits at 3.3%, concentrated in reasoning and multimodality; coding is at parity.

But I'd focus on that 51% vs 63% production gap. 79% of developers use open models, but only half reach production, versus 63% for closed. The report blames operational tooling—integration, maintenance, deployment—not model quality. That tracks with what the community has been saying for months: the models are good enough, but getting them into a production pipeline is still a pain.
