Google previews Connected Apps platform for unified app access
What happened
On Oct 29, Google announced a preview of the Connected Apps Platform, which lets developers build and manage apps for Google Search and Gemini in one place. TechCrunch reported the same day that the platform lets companies and developers submit third-party apps that connect to Gemini and Search, widening app access for both services. The platform is in public preview for US developers, but participants still need to join a waitlist. The two reports cover the unified build-and-manage capability and the third-party app access route.
