Meta launches Waddle World, an AI pet diary app
What happened
On October 28, The Verge reported that Meta quietly released Waddle World, a free app it describes as a "16-bit pet-raising game." Meta says the app is essentially a "daily diary disguised as a pet": the virtual pet talks with the user and draws doodles to illustrate the chats. Waddle World is currently open only to adult users in the Philippines, and Meta has not said whether it will expand to the US or other markets. The report also noted that Meta recently quietly launched Style Sketch, an AI fashion app said to be available only in Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
