The Challenge Sweden footage lost; TV4 denies AI deleted it
What happened
At 18:21 on October 14, Hacker News' front page reported that an AI agent had mistakenly deleted an entire season of The Challenge Swe (the Swedish version of The Challenge), wiping out hundreds of days of work; the thread drew 36 points and 35 comments. A follow-up at 18:28 cited TV4 confirming that a technical fault lost edited footage, and that the show, originally set to premiere this autumn, is pushed to 2027 with the material needing to be re-edited. On the cause, the earlier report said an AI agent deleted the whole season, while the follow-up said Aftonbladet raised the claim that AI deleted edited content, but TV4 denied that an AI agent acted on its own and deleted the material, and said the exact details of the incident are still unclear. The reports do not say whether backups exist or whether any footage has been recovered.
