Instinct launches AI group chats that friends without accounts can join
What happened
TechCrunch reported on October 6, 2026 that Instinct launched a group-chat AI agent feature, letting friends join a group chat even without an Instinct account to plan trips, arrange carpools or coordinate events. The group agent cannot access personal accounts, and a personal agent needs the user's permission before joining a group, sharing information or taking actions. When a new member joins, pending personal replies pause. The feature opened to early-access users the day of the report and will soon reach all users; users can ask their Instinct agent to add them to the early-access list.
