AI digest
A report on the Hacker News front page on October 15, 2026 says tech journalists Casey Newton and John Gruber are returning to X. In his Platformer newsletter, Newton explained that AI discussion still centers on X and no alternative platform took shape, so he had to resume posting. The return did not change his reservations about using X: he still thinks people who can avoid X should avoid it. The report does not say why Gruber returned.
