Google opens and upgrades SynthID media verification site

TechCrunch reported on October 7 that Google launched the SynthID website on Tuesday, opening image, video and audio watermark verification to the public. Nano Banana, Veo, Lyria and Gemini use the technology, and Google says it receives 1 million verification requests a day. Ars Technica then reported that ordinary users previously could only check through Gemini, and the old version could not recognize SynthID watermarks in ChatGPT images.
