Datasette Agent adds side-by-side chat and app editing
What happened
On November 4, 2026, Simon Willison announced datasette-agent 0.5a0. It adds a panel feature that shows the agent chat panel beside a Datasette table or query page. Combined with datasette-apps, users can generate a database-backed app from a prompt and keep editing it in the chat panel next to the app. A trial is available at agent.datasette.io with a GitHub account login.
