Anthropic builds Scion version control system, moves monorepo off git in five months
Anthropic spent five months building Scion, its own version control system, and fully migrated its monorepo off git. Daily merged code changes rose from about 2,500 in May to more than 30,000 in September.
Why it matters: Anthropic moved version control compute to the server and used on-demand fetches and tiered caching to cut the cost of agent tasks keeping local repos.
