Anthropic: single agents that load context on demand often beat multi-agent setups

Anthropic says one AI agent beats many subagents now that models can handle complexity alone

Anthropic says that across several enterprise deployments, a single agent that loads context on demand often beats multi-agent architectures on quality, cost and latency. In one comparison the single agent ran about twice as fast. The company published a migration kit on GitHub to help teams spot their current pattern, evaluate alternatives and check the results.

Why it matters: Anthropic compared agent architectures in real enterprise deployments and found single agents with on-demand context often win on quality, cost and latency.
