Claude traces the seeds of the ECDSA standard curves

Claude reveals ECDSA curve origins

Anthropic's internal research model Claude found in under half an hour that the seeds for NIST's P-192, P-224, P-256, P-384 and P-521 curves came from an lrand48 random number generator initialized with a Unix timestamp.

Why it matters: Claude traced the curve seeds from the random number output, then rebuilt the generation process using state recovery and timestamp backtracking, giving a reproducible method for tracing historical software parameters.
