Earendil releases experimental agent framework Pi Durable alongside Pi 1.0
Pi Durable
Earendil and the Pi community released Pi 1.0 and introduced Pi Durable, an experimental framework for long-running agent applications. The framework supports persistent checkpoints and crash recovery, concurrent sessions and forking, background context compaction and multi-client collaboration, and re-runs an interrupted tool call only when it is declared safe to re-run. Pi Durable does not replace the Pi coding agent, offers memory, SQLite and JSONL storage, and is available to try now, though the API may still change.
Why it matters: Pi Durable wraps model requests and tool calls in checkpointed persistent tasks, giving long-running agents an engineering path to crash recovery and safe re-runs.
