Anthropic's 335-page S-1 pairs a miracle-era pitch with 94 pages of risk factors

Silicon Valley wants you to invest in miracles

Anthropic filed a 335-page S-1 on Monday. The prospectus sets out a vision of a miracle era alongside 94 pages of risk factors, and the founders describe a reverse pitch aimed at long-term investors. It warns that AI could cause catastrophic or existential harm. The filing gives no third-quarter results, discloses hundreds of billions of dollars in financial obligations to secure compute and plans to build its own data centers, and admits the company may never reach or keep profitability.

Why it matters: Anthropic lists risks across 94 pages of a 335-page filing, so investors have a harder time finding the financial signals than in early tech companies' short documents.
