Anthropic launched OSS Scanner, an opt-in program that uses its strongest models, including Claude Mythos, to run regular free security scans on eligible open source projects. Reports are generated entirely by the model with no human review or triage, and include standalone reproducers, explanations of the flaws and candidate patches when available. Results may be wrong or invalid.

Why it matters: Anthropic hands open source maintainers unreviewed vulnerability reports, trading faster and more frequent scanning for the burden of verifying each finding themselves.
