Customize Claude Code's behavior and interface with mods
Customize Claude Code with mods
Claude Code introduced mods, small TypeScript functions that customize tool behavior and the interface, now supported in the CLI and desktop app. Mods install and share with plugins, and can rewrite prompts, intercept tool calls, handle permission requests or replace built-in features. Claude Code can also write, install and hot-reload them.
Why it matters: Claude Code opens up event rewriting, interface customization and built-in feature replacement through mods, so developers can adjust tool behavior without waiting for official updates.
