Both deepseek-chat and deepseek-reasoner have been upgraded to DeepSeek-V3.1, mapping to non-thinking and thinking mode. The model uses a hybrid reasoning architecture; DeepSeek-V3.1-Think answers faster than DeepSeek-R1-0528, and post-training improves tool use and agent tasks.

Why it matters: DeepSeek-V3.1 folds thinking and non-thinking into one model, with the two existing API model names each mapping to one mode.
