Google will turn off Search for schools that refuse its AI features

Google is entirely disabling Search in schools that don’t want AI

Google will shut off Search for schools that decline its AI features, and admins cannot disable Gemini while keeping Search. For K-12 student accounts, Gemini, Gemini Notebook, Gemini in Classroom and Google Search will all be turned off unless an administrator explicitly enables them.

Why it matters: Schools that reject Gemini lose student Search access too, since Google ties the two together for admins.
