ts-rust ports the TypeScript compiler, type checker and language server to Rust
Rust Port of TypeScript (Tsc)
ts-rust, also called tsc-rs, is an early-stage Rust port of the native Go TypeScript compiler, built with help from large language models. The author says OpenAI models burned over $400,000 in API-priced tokens and still reached only about 84% compatibility, while Opus 5.5 produced a working v0 from scratch in 10 hours for roughly $24,047 in API spend over two weeks.
Why it matters: It moves the TypeScript compiler to Rust, and its benchmarks show how built-in Effect diagnostics change full type-check time.
