What Anthropic learned building an AI-native organization

Anthropic's internal employment report says that once AI takes over whole blocks of work, the organizational bottleneck shifts to human attention, acceptance and judgment. In August 2026 the ratio of interactive agent hours to employee hours reached 6:1, but that measures runtime, not output. By session wall-clock time, agents spend about 80% of their time waiting on human input.

Why it matters: Anthropic's account of handing whole blocks of work to AI shows employees doing more acceptance and scheduling, so scaling agents runs into human attention and judgment.
