Google releases Nano Banana 2.1, improving image quality and cutting prices about in half
Google's new image model Nano Banana 2.1 generates better images for less money
Google released Nano Banana 2.1, an image generation and editing model that replaces Nano Banana 2 and cuts image prices by roughly half. A 1K image drops from 6.70 cents to 3.36 cents, and a 4K image from 15.10 cents to 7.56 cents. Google says the new version improves text rendering and character consistency, handles up to 14 reference images, and keeps 4 characters and 10 objects consistent.
Why it matters: Google halved Nano Banana 2.1's image prices, while hands-on tests in the piece still show Pro producing more natural color and proportions.
