deepseek-reasoner has been upgraded to DeepSeek-R1-0528, with stronger reasoning, better web front-end generation, fewer hallucinations, and support for Json Output and Function Calling.

Why it matters: DeepSeek-R1-0528 scores higher on reasoning benchmarks, and complex reasoning questions use more tokens than the older R1, so the capability gain comes with higher generation usage.
