Shipt becomes the latest delivery app with an AI shopping assistant

Shipt launched Ask Shipt, an AI assistant that turns natural-language prompts into ready-to-buy carts. Users can say "Create a cart for my Saturday tailgate for 25 people" or upload a photo of a dish to have ingredients added automatically. Budget-based requests like "a weeknight meal for a family of five under $35" also work. The tool is live today in the Shipt app and on Shipt.com. Shipt, owned by Target, follows Instacart, Uber Eats, and DoorDash in adding AI shopping assistants this year. The post doesn't disclose the underlying model or technical details.
