The reason this is worth a look: it moves coding agent work from private terminals into the team chat. Right now, when someone uses Claude Code or Devin, the process is invisible to teammates until a PR lands. Slack Code flips that — the agent works in a dedicated channel where everyone sees the conversation, diffs, and live previews. Sessions auto-archive when done, leaving an audit trail.

Salesforce name-dropped Anthropic, Cognition, GitHub, Vercel, and OpenAI, which signals they want the major coding agents to plug in, not just their own. That's the right instinct — if this were Slack-only, nobody would care.

I'd discount the announcement a bit. No pricing, no launch date. Slack's paywall is steep; if Code channels are locked behind Enterprise Grid, smaller teams won't touch them. The post also doesn't address how they'll handle notification noise when an agent spits out 50 messages in a long session.
