A Mac-native agent is closer to where work actually happens.
The weak part is the missing deal data. OpenAI gives no price, close terms, user count, or rollout date, so treat any “ChatGPT desktop agent has arrived” take as premature. The governance footnote is the spicier line: a Sam Altman-associated fund held a passive stake, while Nick Turley and Fidji Simo led the deal and independent board committees approved it. That disclosure keeps the legal box checked, but it also shows how tangled OpenAI’s product roadmap and insider capital graph have become.
