Baidu’s number is strong, but I would not read it as a clean win for Ernie or Apollo Go. Q1 “core AI-driven” revenue topped RMB13.6B, grew 49% year over year, and passed half of general business revenue for the first time. The catch is the bucket: the snippet groups AI cloud infrastructure, AI applications, and Apollo Go together, without splitting cloud usage, robotaxi revenue, model API spend, or paid apps.

That breadth matters. OpenAI and Anthropic get judged on API consumption, subscriptions, enterprise seats, and model margins. Baidu is reporting a group-level AI label. The RMB13.6B figure proves Baidu can monetize an AI-branded stack across cloud and mobility; it does not prove model-layer advantage. Without segment margin or customer mix, this is a hard revenue number with soft attribution.
