Google is moving the AI entry point from the chat box to the cursor, and that direction is right. The product path is still stated as Chrome pointer selection and a planned Googlebook Magic Pointer.

I buy the context-binding move, not the “prompts disappear” line. Copilot Recall, Apple Intelligence screen awareness, and Rabbit R1 all hit the same wall: the system has to watch the workspace to reduce user explanation. That immediately raises permissions, storage, and enterprise compliance issues. The article gives no latency, accuracy, cross-app scope, or data-flow detail. The hard part is not the pointer. It is the trust boundary around the desktop.
