Anduril’s sharpest data point is not the $5B round; it is the $61B valuation tied to manufacturing capacity, R&D, and infrastructure. Brian Schimpf did not frame the raise around model capability. He framed it around production, which says the defense-AI bottleneck has moved from demos to shippable hardware, sensors, autonomy, and procurement execution.

Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz leading the round is the signal. Software-heavy capital is accepting a heavier asset cycle because defense AI pays out through delivery, not monthly seats.
