I don’t buy the “smoother everyday conversations” framing as the whole story. Fewer disclaimers and less moralizing make the product feel better, but OpenAI gives no system card, benchmark scores, or API pricing here. From the outside, it is hard to tell whether this is policy relabeling, post-training cleanup, or a relaxed safety classifier. Anthropic usually exposes more of this boundary work in system cards; OpenAI is leading with product copy.
