I don’t buy the clean “AI replaced 1,100 people” framing yet. Klarna sold a similar customer-support automation story, then later talked about hiring humans again. Support is the obvious place for knowledge bases, ticket routing, and RAG agents to cut headcount pressure. But Cloudflare also hit record revenue, so this smells like cost discipline wearing an AI label. Without support headcount per 1,000 customers, first-response time, escalation rate, and deflection quality, 1,100 is mainly a management number built for circulation.
