Pi 1.0 adds native MCP support, routing tool calls through a sandbox

Pi 1.0 supports MCP natively and by default calls tools through Codemode sandbox scripts, moving intermediate data processing and composition out of the main model context. The article uses this to trace its creator's shift from rejecting MCP to adopting it, and argues the protocol should shrink to a tool catalog and discovery mechanism, leaving execution and data handling to code.
